From the mind of Mr. Massey

What an OUTSTANDING year we had at the Blue Eagle Academy! We want to thank all of those who have supported our efforts this school year. Our vision is to be the “Model Alternative School Program” and we are definitely well on the way to realizing that vision. Blue Eagle Academy touched the lives of more than 15 CHS graduating seniors from the class of 2014! We definitely were proud to hear their names called and see them realize one of their dreams as they crossed the stage!

Our theme for the 2014-2015 school year will be “Finding Your True North”. Our work in building the resiliency of our students will help them affirm the belief that they can achieve and prosper in life. The Blue Eagle Academy will continue to be the place where students who struggle academically, socially and/or behaviorally can receive the interventions needed to be successful.

Enjoy your summer and look for updates and changes listed on our webpage in August as we begin the new school year.

The Bridge Builder
by Will Allen Dromgoole

An old man, going a lone highway,
Came at the evening cold and gray
To a chasm vast and deep and wide
Through which was flowing a sullen tide.
The old man crossed in the twilight dim;
The rapids held no fears for him.
But he turned when safe on the other side
And built a bridge to span the tide.

"Old man," cried a fellow pilgrim near,
"You're wasting your time in building here.
Your journey will end with the closing day;
You never again will pass this way.
You have crossed the chasm deep and wide;
Why build you this bridge at even-tide?"

The builder lifted his old gray head.
"Good friend, in the path I have come," he said,
"There follows after me today
A youth whose feet must pass this way.
This stream, which has been as naught to me,
To that fair youth may a pitfall be.
He too must cross in the twilight dim
Good friend, I am building this bridge for him."
