Jay Forrest:
Director
Jay Forrest, Director of Choral Arts at Clover High School, founded the Clover Choraliers in 1994.  The Choraliers are 9-time first-place winners of the South Carolina Choral Concert Festival. Previously, Mr. Forrest served as music director for Kings Productions (now Paramount Productions) where he directed theme park and USO shows. As a USO musician, he toured Turkey, Greece, Italy, France, and Spain as a special employee of the Department of Defense. 
Prior to coming to Clover, Mr. Forrest was director of choral arts at Lancaster High School (Lancaster, SC). Mr. Forrest was recipient of the prestigious Milken Foundation National Educator Award in 2001, Coca-Cola Educator of Distinction in 2001, Clover High School Teacher of the Year in 1999, and Clover School District Teacher of the Year in 1999.  He is a member of South Carolina Music Educators' Association. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Mr. Forrest serves as Music Director at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Clover.  He holds a Master of Arts in Music Education and a Bachelor of Music in piano performance from Winthrop University.  Mr. Forrest and his family reside in Clover.

 

Meredith Cornwell:
Vocal Instructor
Lyric soprano Meredith Cornwell is the 2006 SC National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Award Competition winner, and has performed lead opera and solo roles with Opera at USC, Winthrop Opera Theater, and York County Choral Society. She has served as a lecturer in opera workshop, diction, and applied voice at Winthrop University, director of the Winthrop Voice Academy and as assistant choral director at Northwestern High School (Rock Hill, SC).   Over the years, she has worked in various churches and maintained a large private voice and piano studio. 
Dr. Cornwell received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Vocal Performance from the University of South Carolina and holds both undergraduate and master’s degrees in vocal performance from Winthrop University. She is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Pi Kappa Lambda (national music honor society), Phi Kappa Phi (collegiate honor society), and Delta Omicron (international music fraternity). Dr. Cornwell has taught at Clover High for five years, and lives in Fort Mill with her eight year old son, Colin.

 

  

Cory Dover:

Oak Ridge Middle Director

Mr. Dover is the Director & Instructor for the choral program at Oak Ridge Middle School. Local audiences recognize his artistry as bassist in Choraliers' Holiday and Spring shows for the past 19 years. Mr. Dover was selected as OMS Teacher of the Year for the 2011-12 school year. He joined the Clover Choral Arts Staff in August 2008 after seven years as an orchestra instructor with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Mr. Dover was the Director of the UNC Charlotte 49ers Basketball Team Band for over 10 years.   He earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Winthrop University in 1994.  Mr. Dover and his family reside in Clover.

 

Alex Bromell:

Clover Middle Director

Alex Bromell feels very fortunate and grateful to begin his first year of teaching in the Clover School District.  He serves as the Clover Middle School Choral director & instructor as well as a voice teacher for the Clover Choraliers. Prior to graduating from Winthrop University in 2011, Mr. Bromell interned under Jay Forrest for the Clover High School Choraliers. An internship experience, that was definitely the most rewarding few months of his entire undergraduate career. Mr. Bromell was born in Charleston, SC, and grew up in Plantersville, a rural area near Georgetown, SC. Plantersville is a small community much like Clover and he feels great to be able to have the friendliness, love, and support in Clover just as he once did at home.
