Back-to-School Kickoff a Huge Success
CLOVER, S.C. – Nearly 600 backpacks filled with school supplies were handed out to the children of the Clover School District on Friday night August 14th at the annual Back-to-School Kickoff held at Memorial Stadium.
Each of the District’s ten campuses welcomed students from their schools and presented them with a backpack for the upcoming school year. Also featured at the event was Stepping High which handed out 297 pairs of shoes.
Families were also offered the opportunity for eye exams, along with the fun of various games, face painting, a bounce house, and free admission to the final scrimmage for the Clover High School football team.
An estimated 1,500 people were in attendance for the event which helped kickoff the start of the school year on Monday, August 17th.
The community support was astonishing with an abundance of supplies donated by the likes of New River Church and the York County Sheriff’s department.
