Clover Continues to Exceed National and State Scores in AP and SAT
COLUMBIA, S.C. – State Superintendent of Education, Molly M. Spearman, announced the release of state test scores for AP, SAT and PSAT earlier today with Clover’s scores continuing to exceed the overall national and state scores.
Advanced Placement (AP) achievement of students scoring three or greater rose four percentage points over the district’s numbers last year from 72% to 76%. Three is considered the threshold score for earning college credit.
Since 2011, the percentage of students achieving three or greater has risen from 63% in 2011 to 76% in 2015. That mark is well above the current state percentage of 59% and a global percentage of 61%. These improvements are concurrent with an increase in AP enrollment which started at 148 in 2011 and jumped to 272 enrolled in AP courses in 2015.
Additionally, district SAT scores continue to exceed the national and state averages. The mean score for Clover students in 2015 was 1475, exceeding the state average by 47 points, while outperforming the national average by 13 points.
