Week of May 11 - Year End:

For the next two weeks, we will be working with Adobe Illustrator.  Students will learn a lot of tools in this short amount of time!  We will complete our semester by completing Chapter 9 in our Photoshop textbooks.  This chapter will show students how to create a Website using Photoshop and how to create animated gif files.  Students will design a Website that will showcase many of the assignments they have completed this semester.

We will begin our exam review on May 28.  Our course exam will be on Wednesday, June 3.

    Week of May 4-8:
This week we are finishing up Chapter 8.  We decided to take advantage of the nice weather last week and complete our Digital Photography unit. Students will finish up with their "cartoonization" of themselves.  We will begin a unit on Adobe Illustrator.  This is another great piece of software for them to know how to use as graphic designers.  We will work in Illustrator for the next two weeks.

    Week of April 20-24:
We are continuing our journey into Chapter 8.  Students needed more time to complete Chapter 7 assignments and to finish their Magazine Covers (Major grade).  We will finish Chapter 8 by having the students "vectorize" an image of themselves.  The finished vector image will look like a clip art image or cartoon!

Please be on the lookout for progress reports that I will be handing out and sending home.  Students who have below a C average will need to have these signed.  MANY, MANY students are not turning in assignments for grading.  Students are asked numerous times to turn in their work and in many circumstance I have extended to due dates out an entire week! We still have 6 weeks left and students need to keep up their work ethic.

    Week of April 13-17:
Monday-Students will be reviewing Chapter 7 by completing a written review and two exercises covering Filters and Patterns.  We will have our Chapter 7 test on Thursday, April 16.

Tuesday-Friday-Students will be working on Chapter 8:  Working with Vector Graphics.  In this chapter, students will learn what the difference is between vector and raster graphic images and how to create and manage layer groups, use the pen tool, create shape layers and paths, and add detail to clip art images.  Students will complete the Step-by-Step exercises, AYK, Labs  1-3 and Cases 1-4.

    Week of April 6-10:
Welcome back from a great Spring Break!  It's hard to believe we only have one quarter left in the school year.  Remember to keep up your attendance, grades, and effort in class as we finish up the year.

This week we will be finishing up our Chapter 6:  Channels.  Students will have Monday and Tuesday to complete chapter assignments that will count as daily grades (SBS, AYK, Labs 1-3).  Our test on Chapter 6 will be on Thursday.

On Friday, we will begin discussing Chapter 7:  Applying Filters & Patterns.

    Week of March 23-27:

This week students will be working on Chapter 6:  Creating Color Channels and Actions.  Students will be working through the chapter step-by-steps and then working on the end of chapter assignments.

On Friday, students will have a lunch out.  It will cost $1 to get onto the track field and pizza and snacks will be for sale. There will be music, games and fun!  All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.  Have a great Spring Break!  :-)

    Week of January 20-23:

This week, we will be reviewing and discussing the course syllabus and classroom procedures and rules. The first three days will help establish daily computer lab procedures so that the semester will run smoothly.  Students will be introduced to My Big Campus and will be enrolled in my group on the MBC site.  Students will also practice logging in to their Office 365 account.  This account will provide them access to their Outlook email as well as an online version of MS Office and OneDrive.  Students will be using their OneDrive account in my class.  It will provide them a cloud storage that is accessible from my computers while they are in my lab.

Please be on the lookout for the Computer Use & Acceptable Behavior Agreement.  Students will have until Friday, January 23rd to return this document signed by their parent/guardian.  It will count as a homework grade.  Next week, I will begin posting the weekly template that will outline our weekly assignments and major grades.
