Personal Finance
According to Teenage Research Unlimited, teenage and young adult spending has jumped to $172 billion per year. It seems quite obvious that they know how to spend money, but do they know how to save it? Two-thirds of teens and twenty-somethings are concerned about their personal financial situation. And while teenagers yield immense spending power, many lack the financial knowledge necessary to manage their money wisely. By learning key financial concepts, teens will be much better prepared to avoid financial pitfalls while taking advantage of the time they have to build wealth through goal-setting, saving, investing, and maximizing their tax advantages.
This course is designed to introduce the student to basic financial literacy skills which includes budgeting, obtaining credit, maintaining checking accounts, analyzing the basic elements of finance, computing payroll, recording business transactions, and applying computer operations to financial management.
