Mrs. Tosh Zaleski

My name is Tosh Irby-Zaleski and I am excited to be a part of the Blue Eagle Academy family. I am the Transition Specialist for grades (6-12). My job is to help students transition from their home school to our academy and eventually back to their home school. Once students transition back to their home, I continue to provide additional support through bi-weekly meetings and grade monitoring.

I am originally from Spartanburg, South Carolina, where I graduated from Dorman High School.  After graduating from Dorman, I attended North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, North Carolina, where I graduated with a B.A. Degree in Political Science.  Following my graduation from North Carolina A&T, I began my teaching career as a Social Studies teacher at Cowan Road Middle School in Griffin, Georgia. In addition to teaching at Cowan Road Middle, I have also taught at Summerour Middle School (Norcross, GA) and Shelby Middle School (Shelby, NC).  In January 2015, I became an Assistant Principal at East Gaston High School in Mount Holly, NC, where I served until accepting a position as an Assistant Principal at Shelby Intermediate School (June 2016-January 2018).

In addition to my bachelor’s degree, I have also earned a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University.

I am married and have two beautiful children.  My husband, Justin, is currently a teacher at York Comprehensive High School in York, SC, where he also serves as the Varsity Boys' Basketball Coach. I am also actively involved in my college and sorority (Alpha Kappa Alpha) alumni associations.
