I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year at Oakridge Elementary! My name is Danyelle Wilson and this is my 8th year teaching and my 3rd year at Oakridge Elementary. I am looking forward to taking your child on his/her first educational journey through reading, writing, math, social studies/science, and much more! I will prepare your child to be a future leader through academics, social-emotional, and organizational skills. My goal for every student is to provide a safe and nurturing environment each day. 

   My pedagogical approach in the classroom is best correlated with constructivism. I believe all students have the ability to learn. It is my job as the educator to create a rich, diverse environment for the students to learn in all aspects of education.  In order to enhance student learning in my classroom, students will have multiple opportunities through a hands on/sensory based approach, differentiated literacy and math centers, technology infused lessons/activities, and movement for the whole child-development. All students learn by doing and being fully engaged. 

I have been married to my husband Chavis Wilson for 6 years. We live in Clover and we have one fur baby named Star, and we had our first baby boy Chancelor in December of 2021. We are both originally from Fort Mill, SC. We previously lived in Hilton Head, SC for 9 years. This is where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Spanish at the University of South Carolina Beaufort. During my time in Hilton Head, I taught Kindergarten for two years and 1st grade for two years. I recently graduated with my Master's degree in Instructional Technology and Design.
