MEMORANDUM FOR:  Parents & Guardians                                                                    June 22, 2020

    FROM:  Major Brian Batson

SUBJECT:  Leadership and Adventure Camp (LEAD) and the Cadet Leadership Course (CLC)

Due to the increasing number of new COVID-19 cases in the state of South Carolina (900+ each day) and subsequent strict social distancing requirements (we are required to follow the South Carolina High School League recommended COVID protocols) we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our LEAD camp and CLC course for this summer. It was not an easy decision to make especially given the genuine excitement for our summer opportunities and the high number of students already signed up. It really came down to the health and safety of our students and staff members. Given these strict confines of these requirements (e.g. face coverings, 6 feet social distance), the desired activities and outcomes of camp simply would not be achieved. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but please know we tried everything in our power to make this happen. We are truly disappointed.

As far as the Cadet Leadership Course goes, we will hold officer promotions tests for those previously selected during the first week of August. A detailed student guide will be published NLT July 6th.

Apologies for such disappointing news. Hoping that a turn for the better will happen sooner rather than later. If restrictions are eased, we will attempt to add alternative activities over the summer and fall.

Reaching Dreams - CN2 News

GASTONIA, N.C. ( CN2 TODAY) Some Clover High School cadets who are part of the Air Force Junior ROTC program are getting the chance to earn their private pilot license. School leaders say this comes at a great time because the need for pilots are in demand.
