    What's Up In PE?

I am looking forward to another year teaching your child Physical Education at Kinard Elementary.  As we enter the 2017-2018 school year the importance and value of regular physical activity and exercise has been recognized as never before.  Accompanying this recognition is the awareness that childhood is the time to begin the development of healthy and active lifestyles.  Children do not automatically develop the skills, knowledge, attitudes and behaviors that lead to a regular and enjoyable participation.  They must be taught.

It is my goal to provide Physical Education experiences that will lead to healthy and active lifestyles that will promote their physical skills, as well as, their social skills.  In order for your child to participate safely in Physical Education class it is important that tennis shoes are worn.

I grew up in Orlando Florida and can remember Disney World being a field of Orange Groves! (Wish I had owned them) I attended Florida State and graduated in 1974. I met my husband, Kelsey, while we were both working for Avis Rent A Car at the Orlando Airport. In 1979 I had my first daughter, Lyndsey, who is also a PE teacher at Griggs Rd. In 1982 Kelsey Taylor was born. She is a Yoga Instructor and founder of Yoga Art Teens, a Yoga program for kids. I have two grandchildren Jesse (7) and Ella Grace (4). I am so thankful that both of my daughters and my mother live minutes from me.

I have been at Kinard for 17 years and am looking forward to another great year.
