6th Grade Band Parent Night With Pecknel Music
The Clover School District has awarded Pecknel Music Company the contract for providing band instruments to 6th grade parents who wish to take advantage
of their great programs. Lynn Hudson the Pecknel Educational Representative and his team will be here in the Oakridge Middle Cafeteria and band room the evening of August 26 @ 5:00 PM. He will bring and have for purchase all instruments and supplies needed for our band classes.
He will bring our band method, "Essential Elements 2000" as well as any reeds, valve oil or other supplies that you may need for this year. Please make your plans to join us on Monday evening August 26 and safe yourself a trip out if town!
Tuesday August 27th
This is going to be a great day! Why you ask, because this is going to be the first day that we start playing on our mouthpieces! We will show the
woodwind students how to place reeds and ligatures on their mouthpieces. The brass classes don't have reeds and ligatures to worry about, instead they
must learn how to form their lips to make that perfect buzz so that they have the best tone possible. Our band students should be performing for their parents
to show them what they have learned. I hope you enjoy their performances. Hold on the fun has just begun!
Smart Music is a great computer assisted home practice program for students. I would recommend that all of our band students use this program. There is a link at the bottom of the page for more information.
