Project:This project will improve three athletic fields and make necessary changes to Memorial Stadium so it becomes compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act. The field at Memorial Stadium will be replaced with modern field turf, a synthetic grass that reduces injury risk for our student-athletes and lowers the annual maintenance cost of each field. Two more fields on the Clover High School and current Clover Middle School campus will also be replaced with synthetic turf. Additional restrooms and ramps will improve accessibility and bring the stadium in compliance with ADA.Addresses:The district makes its fields available to community groups, teams, and organizations. With natural grass fields, the facilities must be closed during certain times of the year for maintenance and rest. Likewise, natural grass fields are susceptible to weather conditions that make maintaining fields problematic. The synthetic surfaces will increase the availability of fields to our students and the community. We recognize field accessibility to be a tremendous challenge in our community and the fields presently available in the school district are booked almost all the time.Cost:$6 million.
