My name is Lani McLean, and I have grown  up in Clover, SC. I have an older sister, older brother, twin brother, and two nephews. I studied early childhood education at Clemson University where I fell in love with Clemson and teaching. I just recently got my Masters of Education in Divergent Learning from Columbia College.

This upcoming school year will be my 12th year teaching.  I spent 7 years teaching 1st grade, and will be beginning my 5th year in 3rd grade. Students in my classroom build a lot on the fundamentals of what it takes to be a leader. They are still learning how to handle their emotions and choices, so we use many opportunities that happen in the classroom to discuss what leaders would do.
 
What makes me love my job is getting to see how much my students learn over the course of the school year.  It is so rewarding to know that I helped teach them the basic skills they will use in every grade after 1st.

Some hobbies of mine are reading, working out, cooking, shopping, and watching those Tigers play!
