This is my 6th year at Oakridge Middle School and seventh year of teaching.  I graduated from The University of Iowa in 2005 with a BA in Sociology.  I returned to school to earn my teaching certification from U of I in 2009. I recently earned my Masters of Education degree in Instructional Technology from East Carolina University.  I love to read (obviously), run, hike, spend time in the sun and cuddle with my dog Gizmo.
Reading and writing effectively can open the doors to all kinds of opportunities in your life. I hope to help grow this passion in each one of you!
I am the Girl's Head Coach of the OMS track team.  I sprinted, hurdled, and high jumped throughout high school and in college.  If you love to run or even think you might like it make sure you come and talk to me about being a part of the track team in the spring!!  I am also Clover High School's Varsity Cross Country Head Coach.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
