Mrs. Dicksy Broadwater
Welcome to Bethany’s School Counseling webpage! My name is Dicksy Broadwater and I look forward to working with your child and family.
I have been a school counselor for 13 years and have enjoyed each year. I am starting my 11th year at Bethany Elementary and feel blessed to be a part of this fantastic community.
School counselors promote educational, personal and social development. I work with the children and families of Bethany in many different ways. I work with the children through monthly classroom guidance lessons, individually, and in small groups. Some topics we discuss are self-concept, responsibility, study skills, decision making, career awareness, and friendship skills. Children may ask to come see me or can be referred by a teacher, administrator, or parent/guardian.
I have a variety of family resources that I would love to share with you. Examples include books about raising boys/girls, ADHD, and family changes such as death and divorce. I also have an array of DVDs that have brief clips on discipline, building self-esteem, responsibility, etc. If you would like to borrow anything, contact me with your needs, and I will send you some resources.
I look forward to working with you and your child this year! Please feel free to contact me by note, visit, phone call (810-8800) or email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Thoughts for our year…
Courage doesn’t always ROAR. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, “I will try again tomorrow.”
Beautiful things are about to happen.
Self-confidence is the best outfit- rock it, own it.
