Mrs. Wood's Story...
I am so thankful to be able to spend the year watching your child learn and grow! I am currently in my 14th year of teaching. I taught first grade my first 2 years at Lake Murray Elementary in Chapin, SC . I then got married and moved to Atlanta, GA to teach third grade for one year. I finally convinced my husband to move back "home" (I am from Spartanburg, SC). We moved to Fort Mill, SC and I taught first grade at Larne Elementary for 4 years. We moved to Lake Wylie a few years back and I taught two years at Crowders Creek Elementary School. I worked at Oakridge the first two years it was opened as a first grade teacher before taking 2 years off. This is my 3rd year in 2nd grade at Oakridge Elementary!
I am married to my husband, Craig. At home, he is referred to as Old Craig because we have an 11-year-old son named after him. He is adamant that he is not little anymore, so his name is Craig and his daddy is Old Craig. Craig Jr. starts middle school at Oakridge Middle this year. Graham, our 8-year-old, will be in 3rd grade. We, also, have a 3rd boy in our family. Riggs is 4 years old and will be at the Clover High School Pre-K program this year.
I received my Bachelor's of Science degree in Early Childhood from the College of Charleston. I graduated in 2005. Right after I graduated, I pursued my master's in Language and Literacy at the University of South Carolina. I finished this in 2007 and began teaching that year. We are Carolina Gamecocks fans!
I love what I do and will do whatever I can do help your child! Can't wait to continue watching your child grow! Thank you for sharing them with me!
