Mrs. Shavon O'Brien, Principal

  •  On behalf of all faculty and staff members, I would like to welcome you to Bethel  Elementary School, where we encourage all to S.O.A.R. ( Make Safe Choices, Take Opportunities to Grow, Celebrate Achievement, Respect Ourselves, Each Other and Our Community!!)

Our school staff members seek to empower students to develop a passion for lifelong learning and nurture them by engaging their intellect, emotions and natural curiosity. We aim to instill not only the skills specified in the Profile of a South Carolina Graduate, but also to develop student competence and motivation to promote ownership of their learning as well as their personal growth. Our daily work includes creating a safe and supportive environment in which all learners can pursue academic and social learning experiences and fulfill their unique potential. We offer a variety of activities outside of the instructional day for our students. Students may participate in programs within the school, including  Student House Council,  Choir, Art Club, Scrambled Legs, Recycling Team, PBIS Team and WBET news show.

Our parents and community are a huge part of the success of Bethel Elementary. We believe parent involvement increases student achievement and enriches the school community. Bethel is fortunate to have a motivated and involved PTO, as well as many strong partnerships within the local business community. We also have support from our faith-based partnerships. Our volunteers consistently support our students and staff.  We encourage you to become a volunteer inside/outside our classrooms. By doing so, our parents provide valued attention to students, teachers and the school community. As we build upon existing relationships and forge new ones, we collaboratively support the social, emotional and academic well-being of each child at Bethel Elementary. Together, we can make a difference.

As a principal, I am committed to providing the best education possible for each of our students and I believe that every child can succeed in school. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns:  803-631-8300 or shavon.obrien@clover.k12.sc.us
