Boys Soccer 2022
As we look towards the upcoming season, I am not able to give a lot of information right now. I plan on having a player parent meeting near the end of October. It will give information about the upcoming season, preseason workoput opportunities, and an on-your-own workout program. All forms and paperwork will be discussed at the meeting as well. If there are any pressing questions please feel free to reach out to me through the email and I will do my best to answer them. Excited about the season to come.Head Coach: Andy CarterEmail email@example.comAssistant Coach: Andrew Loveandrew.firstname.lastname@example.orgAssistant Coach: Kevin Kozel

Season-to-Date Game Summaries
Oakridge finished a season of excellence that has not been accomplished too many times in my career. They started the season with a 3-0 loss, but then completed the rest of the season undefeated and beat the team that beat them 5-1 later on in the season. They also spent over 30 hours in community service and helped raise over 200 dollars in supplies for a local hospital.
The final game of the season got cranked up with a goal 11 minutes in that Michael Bise sent to Gavin Pierce who slotted it away from 25 yards out to the upper ninety. At the 20 minute time, Carson Pinti scores on a corner kick from Ayden Taylor. 3 minutes left in the first half, Ronald Nuñez scored a goal off of speed and athleticism. He beat the keeper to the ball flipped on the ground, hopped up and poked in a nice goal. The celebration may have been the best with a back handspring in the middle of the field.
The second half with a goal by Ben Horgan 3 minutes in that was assisted by Gavin Pierce. The game then finished with a 5th goal from another cross from Ayden Taylor that found Bryce Swanson on the backside to slot away the final goal of the season.
Many players played great, but Haven Maddox switched to a defensive back and had his first opportunity in a game situation and played remarkably well. All 3 keepers got in the game as a keeper and a field player and kept the clean sheet.
Well done to a group of well-rounded young men that can raise another banner for Oakridge Soccer.
After 2 years of not finding the answer to beat Banks Trail, the gentleman found the right combination to get the victory and extend the unbeaten streak with one game left with Clover after the break. Ben Horgan finally found the scoreboard as he drilled a rebound off a beautiful cross that connected off of Carson Pinti. Josh Hamer and Adam De Nichilio kept the scoreboard clean in the first half and Cohen Brinkley finished it off it the second half in goal. Many chances were there, but just did not find the back of the net and the game finished with a 1-0 victory for OMS!
Oakridge continued their strong play to beat a good Fort Mill Middle School team 5-0. Michael Bise came in at the 6 minute mark and, within seconds, hammered home a left footed shot to get the scoring started. 14 minutes later Carson Pinti flicks on a long throw in from Jake Mei to Marko Mijanovic that slotted it away for the 2nd goal of the game. The 1st half ends with Joshua Hamer earns a clean sheet, no goals allowed. 4 minutes into the 2nd half Ronald Nuñez takes a quality shot that the keeper gets a hand on to stop, but Carson Pinti was there to take the rebound and score the 3rd goal of the game. Gavin Pierce then takes the shot of the year with an absolute laser from about 25 out that would have scored on most goalkeepers. This absolute beauty of a shot was scored in the 46th minute. The game concluded with Bryce Swanson taking a shot that the keeper got his hands onb, but Carson Pinti, doing the dirty work on the striker, cleans it up and makes the game’s final 5-0. Adam De Nichilio earned his clean sheet for the 2nd half as well. Overall, the best team play of the season and it showed.
The Oakridge boys continued their streak defeating Clover 1-0. Th lone goal was about 20 minutes in when Carson Pinti drilled a 35 yard strike into the upper 90. The play was solid in the 2nd half controlling most of the play, just not finding thew back of the net. Looking forward to rematch in the near future. Cohen Augustine, Parker Stauffer, and Jonah Stovscik came in and played a great game as well. Cohen Brinkley was solid in the net with 3 saves. We play at home Thursday against Fort Mill Middle School.
Oakridge came out on their home field ready to right the wring from our first game’s loss to Springfield. Possession was held most of the 1st half and knocking on the door of scoring until around the 20th minute, when Ryker Osterberg sent in a cross that Michael Bise found and drilled it home for the 1st goal of the season. Near the end of the 1st half Gavin Pierce and Ronald Nuñez connected twice within a minute of each other to elevate the score to 3-0. The score ended with this score, but all players were put in and had valuable minutes.
Cohen Brinkley had a shutout with 3 quality saves. Jake Mei had his first minutes after quarantine and came out solid in the back. Liam Hawkins, Adam De Nichilio, and Cohen Augustine all came off the bench and made a difference on the field. Bryce Swanson and Ayden Taylor had a solid showing and are showing signs of greatness. We go back to work next Tuesday when we take on our cross-town rivals at the stadium.
Oakridge traveled to Springfield and played a solid 30 minutes. Unfortunately it takes 60 minutes to put together a complete game. We showed signs of the team that we will be as we go further into the season, but were not able to find the back of the net as the ball was cleared off the line twice in the second half of the game. Hats off to a solid Springfield team.
Gavin Pierce and Ben Horgan played a solid game at center midfield. Carson Pinti and Finnley Russell also played solid in the backfield. Marko Mijanovich played a solid game up top and just missed getting on the board.
