OMS vs. Fort Mill (Home) March 4

On Wednesday night, the OMS Boys soccer team started the 2020 season off in great fashion by defeating Fort Mill 7-2 at home. The first 20 minutes of the match both teams were trying to get their footing and establish momentum. OMS finally broke through at the 20:00 mark on a shot from within the 18 on a rip by Greyson Gabela assisted by Dalton Rook. Fort Mill countered six minutes later to knot the score at 1 apiece heading into the half. At the 36:00 mark, Tyler Kozel found the bottom corner to put the Golden Eagles up 2-1. Kozel struck the upper 90 3 minutes later to extend the lead to 3-1. This time assisted by Jack Hinton. One minute later Landon Sykes dribbled through the FM back line to extend the lead to 5-1. FM then countered with a goal to cut the lead to 3. Finalizing the scoring with one-minute remaining was Grady Pierce who capped off an outstanding defensive effort by getting involved on the offense to end the game at 7-2.
