Babies are born to learn! And you are already your child’s first and most important teacher. It is our goal to help you give your child the best possible start in life.
The Clover School District is proud to offer the Bright Beginnings program to families located within our school district. This Home visitation program is offered at no cost to our students & families. We provide support & assistance to families starting as early as pregnancy. CSD implements the Parents as Teachers (PAT) curriculum, which is an early childhood parent education, family support, well-being, and school readiness home visiting model. This model is based on the premise that "all children will learn, grow, and develop to realize their full potential." Our Parent Educators are nationally trained to work with families using a comprehensive online curriculum that helps families strengthen protective factors and ensure that young children are healthy, safe, and ready to learn.
Bright Beginnings is a free and voluntary program, which provides support and assistance to all parents of young children, ages birth to 5 years. Bright Beginnings uses the following ways to partner with parents to help each child reach his or her full potential:
Personal Home Visits: During a home visit, a family educator shares information on child development and brings age-appropriate activities for you and your child to do together. These visits are conducted at your home, making it convenient for you and your child. Our home visitation program focuses on five core competencies:
- Family support and parenting education
- Child and Family development
- Human diversity within family systems
- Health safety and nutrition
- Relationships between families and communities
Screenings provide an opportunity to help you better understand your child’s development. If delays are identified that may affect future learning, we can refer you to resources that may provide the help that your child needs.
The Eaglets class is designed for you and your child to learn together as well as to give your child a chance to work on their social skills. This class can also help you to discover ways to provide these same types of experiences for your child in your own home.
Resource Connections:We can help you locate resources in the community that are available for supporting and enriching families and young children.
Parent Groups:Parents meet to share ideas and experiences, as well as learn about child development issues. Parent Groups also help connect families to one another.Music & Movement
Music & Movement is a program designed to promote language development, which utilizes music, movement & repetition. Young children & their caregivers will learn nursery rhymes, new songs, finger plays, dances and more! Children will discover the joys of musical instruments and learn about rhythm, tempo and movement. Studies show that early involvement with music can boost language and math skills. For more information, please contact Bright Beginnings at 810-8435, or stop by our office at 300 Clinton Ave., Clover, SC 29710
