This is my twenty-sixth year of teaching and my twenty fourth year at Bethel.  Every year has been an exciting, memorable, time of growth as I have been lucky to teach such wonderful students.  I especially enjoy the enthusiastic students, staff, and parents at Bethel.
I live in Rock Hill with my husband John and our two children, Patrick and Mattie Jane.  They are the love of our lives, and we enjoy our family time.
I graduated from Winthrop University in 1994 with a B.S. in Elementary Education.  I completed a Master's degree in the area of reading in 1997.  I continued my learning with endorsement in Gifted and Talented education and National Board Certification in Literacy.   I look forward to continuing my education throughout my teaching career.
I love to read, sew, and exercise.  I often rise at 5 am for a run before the school day begins, and I ride my bike around 100 miles per week; cycling is my favorite.  I go to the gym on off days and walk with my husband at night!

I promote an atmosphere of safety, trust, and respect in my classroom. I work hard to establish a feeling of security for my students, so they can learn to be creative, independent thinkers. I love being a teacher and accept the responsibility with a great deal of dedication and joy!
