About Mrs. Williams

  • Welcome to 3rd Grade!  I am so happy to be able to teach your children this year.  Here are a few things about myself:

About Mrs. Williams… I was born in Asheboro, North Carolina (home of the North Carolina Zoo) on October 30th. We won’t discuss the year.   I have taught 2nd-5th grade in elementary school, as well as middle and high school. This is my 22nd year of teaching and my twelfth at Bethel.

My husband and I moved to South Carolina in 2002 and I began teaching at Bethel in 2004 when my daughter Emma began Pre-K, she is now a sophomore at Clover High School. One of my favorite family activities is Family Game Night each Friday. We rotate weeks on who gets to choose the game. We are all competitive, so it makes for some fun Fridays!!

I graduated from High Point University in 1992 with a B.A. in Elementary Education. I completed my Master’s Degree in Divergent Learning five years ago from Columbia College. (Yes, even at my age, you can still go to college. ) I am also National Board certified in Literacy.

My favorite sports team is Duke, go Blue Devils! My favorite food is anything Italian. Yummy! My favorite place to vacation is Disney. We are definitely a Mickey and Minnie family. We have a dog named Minnie, as a matter of fact.

I can't wait for a great year in 3rd grade teaching and learning :)

    A few things:

    1. Each month, we are asked to nominate someone at Bethel as the Employee of the Month.  I thought maybe you and /or the students could do this as well.  I AM NOT asking that you vote for me. J There are many wonderful employees here that deserve credit for the things they do.  Please follow the link and let someone know how they have impacted you or the life of your child. J Please take time to recognize the amazing people I get to work with!

    1. Roveri is in need of toilet paper rolls.

    1. Remember our field trip is November 12th during school hours.

    1. We will have Family Literacy Night November 19th.  More information to follow!

We have finished with explorers (test will be in folders on Wednesday) and are working on habitats in science beginning tomorrow.  We will discuss how fossils tell us a story of the past, food chains, how habitats changes cause plants and animals to respond in different ways.  This will take a couple of weeks.
