About Mrs. Williams

  • Welcome to 5th Grade!  I am so happy to be able to teach your children this year.  Here are a few things about myself:

About Mrs. Williams… I was born in Asheboro, North Carolina (home of the North Carolina Zoo) on October 30th. We won’t discuss the year.   I have taught 2nd-5th grade in elementary school, as well as middle and high school. This is my 25th year of teaching and my 15th at Bethel.

My husband and I moved to South Carolina in 2002 and I began teaching at Bethel in 2004 when my daughter Emma began Pre-K, she is now a sophomore at the University of South Carolina! One of my favorite family activities is watching the Amazing Race and talking about Disney...when are we going to Disney, what are we going to do when we get to Disney, what are we going to eat! Since I'm now an empty-nester, my husband and I have "date night" MOST Fridays at Sweetwater.  If you see me, come by and say hello!

I graduated from High Point University in 1992 with a B.A. in Elementary Education. I completed my Master’s Degree in Divergent Learning eight years ago from Columbia College. (Yes, even at my age, you can still go to college. ) I am also National Board certified in Literacy.

My favorite college basketball team is Duke, go Blue Devils! As of late (a year now), my favorite college football team is USC (they get all of my money...might as well support the team). I also LOVE the Carolina Panthers (although they've let me down lately).  My favorite food is anything Italian and Chocolate with some type of nuts! Yummy! My favorite place to vacation is DISNEY! We are definitely a Mickey and Minnie family. We have a dog named Minnie, as a matter of fact.

I can't wait for a great year in 5th grade teaching and learning from your wonderful kids!  :)
