Quinn Announces Hiring of Dr. Norris Williams as Principal of Blue Eagle Academy
CLOVER, S.C. – Superintendent Dr. Sheila Quinn announced that the Clover School District Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Dr. Norris Williams as the Principal of Blue Eagle Academy.
Dr. Williams returns to York County after spending two years as the Assistant Superintendent of School Excellence and Leadership for Sumter School District. Before his position in Sumter, Dr. Williams was the Principal of Dutchman Creek Middle School in Rock Hill, for 11 years.
As Principal of Dutchman Creek, Dr. Williams was named the State Middle-Level Principal of the Year in 2017 by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators.
“We are excited to add Dr. Williams’ expertise and energy to the Blue Eagle Academy family,” said Dr. Quinn. “Dr. Williams is a highly creative leader who has a proven track record of engaging parents and families in the school culture, creating strong academic and social support systems for students, promoting high expectations for student outcomes, and providing multiple opportunities for students to find their strengths and passions.”
Dr. Williams earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education from South Carolina State University and a Masters in Middle-Level Education from Winthrop University. He completed his Doctorate of Education at Gardner-Webb University in 2014.
