District Update - January 5th, 2021
Upon the district's return to school from winter break, the district administration has reviewed the impact of the spread of COVID-19 within the district.
Based on this information, the Clover School District will begin the 4+1 model at the beginning of the second semester. At Clover High School that date remains, Tuesday, January 19, 2021 and for Clover and Oakridge Middle Schools that date will now be Monday, February 1, 2021. Until those dates, the district will remain in the current Hybrid model.
The district will notify you if any additional changes are required.
As a reminder, the district continues to monitor COVID positivity rates as well as the number of students and staff who are quarantining and isolating. While the county is at HIGH spread, the district rate of spread is still LOW. Our success in keeping the spread low internally is due in large part to the outstanding sanitation and safety protocols our staff is implementing daily. It is also due to the extensive contact tracing carried out by our administrators and nurses. Instead of moving the entire district to an eLearning setting because of the county COVID numbers, the decision matrix we are using addresses the problem where it occurs. When necessary, classes, grade levels, or schools will convert to synchronous eLearning to ensure everyone’s safety. The district’s plan includes indicators to move a class to eLearning when there is 20% positive COVID cases. In the abundance of caution, we are now considering multiple indicators to convert to eLearning including the percentage of positive, isolating, or quarantining staff and/or students.
