Clover School District Will Host Two Virtual Montessori Program Parent Meetings

Clover School District’s Montessori Program will enter its fifth year in the fall of 2021.  The overall success of the program and the excitement generated within the community has allowed the program to expand from one class to two classes in the 2021-2022 school year.  For those unfamiliar with the program, the district will host two parent meetings.

Griggs Road Elementary school is home to the district’s Montessori program which will host 36 three, four and five-year-old students, split into two classes for the first time this year.

The Montessori method promotes classrooms that are made up of a mixed age group of students, therefore, forming communities in which the older children spontaneously share their knowledge with the younger ones. Montessori also enables children to explore a variety of materials with differing levels of difficulty and fosters leadership skills. Montessori represents a different approach to education that has successfully developed motivated and self-disciplined learners.

This year, Clover School District will host two virtual meetings.

  • Monday, March 15, 2021, virtually from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, March 18, 2021, virtually from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

To register for the program, parents must attend one of the two meetings.  Parents can register for the parent information sessions via this link: PARENT INFORMATION SESSION.  The program will be open to students throughout the entire district, not just those that live within the Griggs Road zone.  The registration form and all required documentation must be submitted by Thursday, April 1, 2021, to the student’s home school.

The district will hold an open lottery on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at the district’s main and can be viewed virtually from 12:00 – 12:30 p.m. to select the students who will be eligible to enroll in the Montessori class for the 2021-2022 school year.

Shortly following the lottery, families will be notified of their placement.  Families who are not placed within the Montessori program will have the option to be added to a waiting list for any opening that may occur.  Families who have registered a pre-kindergarten aged child who was not selected will have the option to be screened for the district’s pre-kindergarten program.
