Wayne Williams Named 2022-2023 Clover School District Teacher of the Year
Wayne Williams, a Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher at Clover High School’s Applied Technology Center, was named the Clover School District’s 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year during the district’s annual Convocation this morning.
Williams was selected for the honor from a pool of 13 educators from across the district. The selection committee was made up of Clover community members and teachers from across the state.
Williams has taught Engineering and Mechatronics at the Applied Technology Center since 2013. He spent 20 years working in industry before deciding to become an educator. He holds associate degrees in both mechanical engineering technology and engineering graphics technology from York Technical College.
An advocate of project-based learning, Williams values learning experiences embedded in authentic, real world problems and that deliver value to the community. He is most proud of the fact that 60 of his students last year earned prestigious industry certifications in engineering.
Williams will now represent the Clover School District in the State Teacher of the Year competition.
