Five CSD Teachers Awarded Bright Ideas Grants

York Electric Cooperative awarded $5,000 to Clover School District (CSD) teachers through the Bright Ideas Grant program on Thursday, November 17.

Each grant was in the amount of $1,000. The funds will support specific educational projects proposed by the educators.

Grant recipients include:

  • Angela Carpenter, Clover Middle School, “Blue Eagles School Tools”;

  • Michelle Hubbard, Clover Middle School, “Today’s Weather”;

  • Scott Boyd, Clover High School, “Smoke and Fog Machine”;

  • Tracy Mitchell, Griggs Road Elementary, “Innovative Creativity with LEGOs”; and

  • Michelle Young, Bethel Elementary, “Springs of Learning.”

Grant recipients were surprised with visits from representatives of York Electric, who delivered checks and gift baskets to teachers’ classrooms. The recipients and their administrators will attend an awards breakfast later in the year. 

York Electric awarded a total of $14,500 to York County teachers through the 2022 Bright Ideas Grant program.
