CMS Host Inaugural CTE Showcase for Students
As the field of education continues to evolve with personalized learning strategies and trades are coming back to the forefront again, learning about the varied opportunities available to students is important. On Wednesday, students from Clover High School’s Applied Technology Campus (ATC) visited Clover Middle School (CMS) today to introduce eighth grade students to the 16 career pathways offered at the ATC.
The 16 pathways include:
- Automotive Technology
- Building Construction
- Business
- Computer Programming
- Culinary Arts
- Diesel Technology
- Early Childhood
- Environmental and Natural Resources
- Family and Consumer Science
- Firefighting
- Health Science
- Marketing
- Media Technology
- Plant and Animal Systems PreEngineering
- Utility Line Worker
- Welding
High school students set up displays in the CMS gym to showcase their courses and the kinds of activities they offer. Eighth graders learned how to perform CPR from students in the Sports Medicine program, while others had a chance to try out the lifesaving equipment used by students in the Firefighting program.
This was the first time the CTE Showcase has been held, and students currently taking these classes were the perfect promoters of each program.
