Hemingway Named SCASA Personnel Administrator of the Year

Dr. Tony Hemingway, Chief Human Resources and Strategic Planning Officer, has been named the South Carolina Association of School Administrators’ (SCASA) Personnel Administrator of the Year.

The announcement was made today at SCASA’s Personnel Winter Conference at the Hilton Columbia Center.

“Dr. Hemingway is so deserving of this recognition. He is a creative leader who has made great strides in making Clover School District a ‘destination district’--a place where high-quality teachers and staff want to work. His innovations in this area have had a marked impact on teacher retention,” said Superintendent Dr. Sheila Quinn.

Dr. Hemingway has served as Clover School District’s (CSD) Chief Human Resources and Strategic Planning Officer since 2017. Prior to that, he was a principal and assistant principal in the district. Earlier this month, Dr. Hemingway was appointed Superintendent of Fairfield County Schools. He will assume this new post in April.

Dr. Hemingway holds a Doctorate in Education from South Carolina State University and has completed the National Superintendent’s Academy.
