Lake Wylie High School (LWHS) Principal Calub Courtwright set foot in his new school for the first time today. Chief Operations Officer Mark Hopkins and Leitner Management Group's Jon Hattaway took Courtwright on a driving tour of the site and then escorted him on a walking tour through the new facility that is currently under construction. Courtwright had the chance to walk the hallways, pop into classrooms, check out the auditorium and even get a glimpse of his new office. Lake Wylie High School is slated to open in Fall 2026.

Calub Courtwright has been appointed to become Lake Wylie High School’s first principal. Courtwright is currently serving as the principal of the Ninth Grade Campus (NGC) and served as the principal of Clover Middle School from 2013 to 2023. Courtwright first joined CSD in 1999 as a teacher at Crowders Creek Elementary. He left the classroom in 2007 to become an assistant principal at Crowders Creek. He served as the principal of Bethany Elementary from 2010-2013. He holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Geneva College in Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in educational leadership and supervision from Winthrop University. According to the Superintendent, Dr. Sheila Quinn, “Mr. Courtwright is a proven leader at every level he has served as principal. In 2024, he led the Ninth Grade Campus to a 94% on track to graduation rate and increased student participation in clubs, athletics, and other extracurricular activities. Teachers appreciate his work ethic and intense focus on student achievement.” “I am excited about the opportunity to build a team that includes all stakeholders…teachers, students, parents, and community members that will allow Lake Wylie High School to make history and set the standard for all high schools in the Southeast!” Courtwright said.

Clover School District will open on a one-hour delay, tomorrow, Thursday, January 23, 2025. While roads are relatively clear at this time, we believe the delay will improve visibility where any icy patches are concerned. Start times for tomorrow will be as follows: Elementary Schools–8:35 a.m. Middle Schools–9:00 a.m. High Schools–10:00 a.m. We encourage all families to take necessary safety precautions when traveling to school tomorrow.

Out of an abundance of caution, Clover School District (CSD) has canceled all afternoon and evening activities on our campuses beginning at 5 p.m. today. Our community is under a winter weather advisory from 4 p.m. today through 9 a.m. tomorrow. CSD will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Wednesday, January 22. This delay will allow our staff to evaluate conditions in the morning to determine whether we can open safely or whether it will be necessary to cancel school and plan for an inclement weather make-up day on Monday, February 17.

Due to frigid temperatures and worsening weather conditions especially on our side roads, all CSD schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, January 22. CSD will conduct an E-Learning Day on Monday, February 17, to make up for tomorrow’s closure. Details about the E-Learning Day will be forthcoming, but please know that we are aware that families may have made plans for intercession. Stay safe and warm and enjoy your snow day.

Clover School District (CSD) will transition to asynchronous E-Learning on Friday, January 10, 2025, to ensure the safety of students and staff as Winter Storm Cora approaches our area. Parents will receive direct information from their school on the details around the eLearning Day. An Asynchronous E-Learning Day means that students will not log on for live instruction from their teachers. Instead, students will complete assignments posted to Canvas (the district’s online learning management system) or provided in paper packets for our youngest learners. The asynchronous format provides families with the greatest flexibility in how and when their students complete the assignments because students are not required to be online at any specific time. Staff will be available for office hours between 8:00 am - 11:30 am should your child need support locating or completing the assignments . Students have up to five days from Friday, January 10, to complete their work in order to be counted present for the missed day of school. All work should be completed and turned in by Friday, January 17, 2025. All athletic events have been cancelled for both Friday, January 10, and Saturday, January 11. Details about when these events will be rescheduled will be shared shortly.

It's that time again, Clover Community! The Clover School District Back-to-School Bash will be held Friday, July 26, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Memorial Stadium. We hope you will join us for music, inflatables, snow cones, temporary tattoos, sunglasses and important resources from our schools and community organizations. See you out there!!!

Parents who indicated that their children needed bus service when they registered their children for the 2024-2025 school year should have received emails earlier today with their children's bus route and schedule information. Parents were sent two emails--one with details for the morning route and a second with details of the afternoon route. Parents who did not receive these emails should contact their child's school.
