The Health room is designed to assist students with chronic conditions and be an emergency station to care for minor injuries and illnesses that occur at school. Injuries or health concerns that occur outside of school should be treated at home or by your health care provider. The school nurse cannot diagnose or prescribe medications.
Forms
Over The Counter Medication Form
Students may carry over the counter (OTC) medications during the school day. Examples of an OTC medication are Motrin, Tylenol, or Benadryl. The medication must be kept in the original container. Students may not share OTC medications with others.Prescription Medication Form
This form must be filled out and signed by your student's medical provider. Prescription medication must be brought in by a parent and stored in the health room. The school nurse will administer these medications according to the orders detailed on this form. Those students that require life saving medications, such as insulin, asthma inhalers, and epipens may self-carry these medications with physician approval.
