Game Summaries:

Oakridge starts the season off with a new opponent.  Taking on Northwestern Middle, Donnie Szot set in a cross from a corner were Caleb Schraf put it in the back of the net in less than 5 minutes.  Lincoln Stern made it 2-0 17 minutes into the game.  8 minutes later Bowen Rudnick gave Lincoln a chance for a second goal and he did not disappoint with his second of the game.  Parker Caldwell kept a clean sheet for the first half.  Starting the second half, OMS picked off an NW defender to put in the 4th goal of the game.  Noah shared the wealth and assisted for Santiago Molina to get on the board to make it 5-0.  After a penalty inside the box, Bowen Rudnick gave a quick tap while Parker’s thunderous kick was too much for the goalie to handle.  That finished up the scoring with a 6-0 victory.  Austin Derwich kept the sheet clean in the second half.  We take on Indian Land Middle on Thurday.

Oakridge boys came out under the lights and took on a quality opponent in Indian Land Middle School.  The game went back and forth with both teams having their chances to score in the first half.  Caleb Schraf and Noah Morgan almost found the back of the net multiple time.  Parker Caldwell made a few great saves and the back line help up against some rather large attackers.  We saw signs of true talent from the team between the midfield in the attacking third.  The second half started up and Indian Land struck quickly to make it a 1 goal lead one a great through ball and an amazing finish.  3 minutes later they had the two quality attackers up top found the back of the net again.  The rest of the half had ball movement and the game started getting a little chippy.  The game finished with a 2-0 loss for OMS.  Hats off to a good Indian Land side.  The boys are now 1 and 1 on the season with Clover Middle next week on Wednesday away.

OMS vs CMS battle did not disappoint.  The weather was fantastic and the first half showed signs of both teams looking to capitalize and get a goal.  The game at halftime was 0-0.  After some halftime changes, OMS started to get the better of the play.  It finally broke as Cooper Boggess send a ball over the top that Noah Morgan used his speed to track down and calmly put in the back of the net 10 minutes into the 2nd half.  With OMS never letting off the gas, Ayden Cook was able to slot away the 2nd and final goal of the game making it a 2-0 win for the Golden Eagles.  Parker Caldwell and Austin Derwich held a clean sheet once again.  All players contributed to this victory as they were asked to adjust and adapt.  Proud of the gentleman as they are continuing their win streak.

Oakridge finished off their season away a Northwestern, where they took on Northwestern Middle.  The field was the largest that we had played on and the first half showed that both teams struggled to work through it.  Cooper Boggess sent a nice ball to the back post scoring the only goal in the first half 21 minutes in.  Austin Derwich held a scoreless half.  At halftime, the team discussed field management and from that point on, it was a dominant victory with many of the goals being what players call bangers.  Shots that make people stop and just say wow.  Cooper scored a 2nd 3 minutes into the 2nd half.  This is rather impressive considering that he spent the majority of the season as the last man back holding down the defense.  Cooper then sent in a beautiful cross that Lincoln Stern finished with a shoulder shot 7 minute later.  This is a tough thing to pull off and the training session earlier in the week paid off.  Ayden then pulled down a loose ball at the 42 minute and allowed Donnie Szot to absolutely hammer a ball from about 35 out.  Lincoln then sent in a ball to Caleb Schraf who cleanly placed it in less than 3 minutes later.  Cooper then got the coveted “Hat Trick” scoring his third a final of the game 48 minutes into the game.  The final goal was the ultimate April Fools.  Hudson Thomas was fouled and awarded a direct kick from about 35 out.  Caleb was telling all the opponents that he was hitting it directly to him and he was going to finish it.  The ball was driven right to him, but instead of finishing it, he allowed it to go between his legs and Hudson got the goal he had been working on all night.  Parker Caldwell held a scoreless half as well.  The game finished with a 7-0 victory and a solid half showing that OMS is still a premier team in York County.
