Clover School District
The Clover High School (CHS) Athletic Department is proud to announce the winners of this year’s male and female athletes of the year. Each year, the athletic staff at CHS highlights the accomplishments of outstanding senior athletes by recognizing the winners of the Moore and Bowman Awards.
The W. Blair Moore award is given each year to the most outstanding male athlete in the senior class. Jake Nicely, boys lacrosse, is a 4 time all-region selection, a 3 time all-state selection, and a 2026 North/South All-star game selection. He holds school records in goals, face offs, points, ground balls, and assists. In addition, Jake led the Blue eagle football team in receiving yards this past fall.
The Dr. W.H. Bowman award is given each year to the most outstanding female athlete in the senior class. Ella Nighbor finishes her time at CHS as the most prolific and successful distance runner in school history. Ella is a two-time state champion in the girls 1600 meters (2025, 2026), won the 2026 state championship in the 3200 meters, and won the 5A individual state cross-country championship in the fall while leading the team to the school’s first ever 5A state cross country championship. Ella was also named the Gatorade SC Runner of the Year and the SC CAWS (Coaches Association of Womens Sports) Runner of the Year.
