Clover High School held a Military Signing Day today to honor those graduating seniors who plan to enlist in the military, attend a military academy or participate in a collegiate ROTC program.
The ceremony opened with the presentation of colors by the Air Force JROTC. Senior Q Gregory performed the National Anthem. Camilla Joye of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes offered the invocation. Superintendent Sheila Quinn praised the students for the honor of serving their country.
A brass quintet performed the military hymn of each branch of the armed services, as students who will serve in those branches stood. The ROTC performed a flag folding ceremony in remembrance of those who have lost their lives in defense of our country.
Clover High School Principal Donna Farris and Dr. Quinn presented each graduate with a red, white and blue honor cord to be worn at graduation. Mrs. Farris offered closing remarks.
Congratulations to the Fire Combat Challenge Team from the Applied Technology Center!
They hosted their first challenge event in Clover on Saturday and posted impressive results in truck operations, knot tying, Pittsburgh Drill, Denver Drill, individual and team rapid dress and vent, enter, isolate and search.
Clover stepped up to host the contest after another district lost funding to support it. Great work, Chief Boyd and Company!
