Clover School District’s (CSD) top priority is the safety and security of all students and staff. For this reason, CSD is announcing new security measures at extracurricular activities, including the first Clover HIgh School (CHS) home football game of the season on Friday, Aug. 29.
All high school students, both those from CSD schools and those from visiting schools, must have a school-issued student ID, as well as a ticket, to gain entry to the game. CHS expects to distribute student IDs late next week, just in time for the first game.
Students who do not have a valid high school ID, such as younger students in elementary or middle school, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian above the age of 21. Parents and guardians who bring multiple students without a high school ID will accept full responsibility for any actions taken by the students who entered with them.
Fans planning to travel to away games this season should be aware that similar ID policies have already been implemented in many surrounding school districts.

This week, CSD Families are receiving information about the Student Reassignment process that is getting underway to support the opening of three new schools in August 2026. Those schools are Lake Wylie High School, Roosevelt Middle School and Liberty Hill Elementary.

They started their day at Crowders Creek Elementary this morning, opening car doors and greeting students as they started their second week of school.

"Four Houses, One Family!"
With that chant, students and staff new to Bethel Elementary stepped up to the spinning wheel to join one of four houses--Altruismo, Amistad, Isibindi or Reveur.
While the exercise feels a bit like the sorting hat at Hogwarts in the Harry Potter series, the selection to a house is an important part of the culture at schools using the Ron Clark Academy model. The houses break down the school into smaller groups , creating a close-knit culture .
Each house has a color and theme. Altruismo is the house of givers, and its members wear the color black. Amistad is the house of friendship, and its members wear the color red. Isibindi is the house of courage, and its members wear the color green. Reveur is the house of dreamers, and its members wear the color blue.
Bethel Elementary has a new principal this year, so Mrs. Jennifer Camp excited the crowd when she revealed her blue T-shirt to join Reveur. Superintendent Dr. Sheila Quinn was also invited to take part in the ceremony. She revealed her green T-shirt to join Isibindi.

Two CSD families had major repairs made to their homes this summer, thanks to a community organization.
Camp One Fifty-One connected with School Social Worker Brooke Courtwright to get the relationship started. Camp One Fifty-One is a ministry in which participants devote one week each year to address health and safety concerns in someone's home. This year, they kicked off their week of service with remarks from CSD Lead Social Worker Courtney Jones, who shared information about homelessness in the Clover community.
One house received a yard cleanup, two bathroom renovations and bedroom furniture. The other house received a new roof, two decks, a full bathroom and a toilet and floor in a second bathroom.

CSD is monitoring weather conditions following heavy rainfall in our area this morning.York County is currently under a flash flood warning until 4:45 p.m.
We expect to have a normal dismissal today but will notify families if any changes in our operations become necessary.
We remind families that our buses will be running more slowly today to ensure safety with the ponding on area roads. We encourage family members driving to our campuses to pick up students to exercise caution during their drive. We are also making announcements to student drivers at Clover High School and the Center for Career Innovation so that they reduce their speeds when heading home this afternoon.

Our talented teachers had to be extra creative about delivering lessons when the internet went down and some of their resources weren't available, but they are polished professionals who handled the situation with grace and grit!
