ParaPathways Testing Information

Pursuant to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act, the ParaPathways Assessment can be used to qualify instructional paraprofessionals and paraeducators who have a high school credential, but don't meet the other educational requirements.

ParaPathways consists of two subtests, Reading /Writing and Mathematics, and is designed to “assesses whether the paraeducator possesses the essential skills necessary to help students develop foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematics” (ETS, ParaPathways Study Companion)

The ParaPathways Assessment is replacing the previous ParaPro Assessment on September 1, 2026.

Tri-District Adult Education offers ParaPathways testing at both the Clover and Fort Mill Sites. The cost of the exam is $100 cash (no checks or credit cards accepted.) and must be paid when you arrive to take the exam.

*The $100 test fee is waived for completers of the ParaPathways Preparation program offered through Tri-District Adult Education.
