Following the August 25 public announcement of Dr. Sheila Quinn’s planned retirement, the Clover School District Board of Trustees has continued working behind the scenes to prepare for the selection of the District’s next superintendent.

While the public announcement was made in August, the Board’s work actually began earlier in the summer, when Dr. Quinn shared her intention to retire. Since then, the Board has been carefully developing the framework for the search, including establishing a superintendent profile, identifying potential interview topics, and seeking input from key stakeholder groups.

Listening to stakeholders and gathering feedback has been an integral part of the process. Members of the Board have met with the District’s Teacher Forum, Parent Advisory Council and Clover LEAF Board of Directors to learn more about the qualities and characteristics constituents would like to see in the next superintendent. The Board also sought input from principals, who along with Cabinet members, work directly with the superintendent and understand the leadership needs of the District.

This feedback will help inform the Board as it evaluates candidates and works to identify the individual whose leadership experience, qualities and vision align with the needs and priorities of Clover School District.

The Board will continue its work through the selection process, using the superintendent profile and feedback gathered from faculty, parents, community partners, principals and District leadership to help guide its discussions and candidate evaluations.

The goal is to conduct a thoughtful and deliberate process that results in the selection of the next superintendent who can build upon Clover School District’s strong foundation and lead the District into its next chapter.
