Evonne Jenkins of Larne Elementary was named the Clover School District 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year.
The announcement was made at this morning's District Convocation.
Ms. Jenkins is a dedicated fifth-grade math and science teacher at Larne Elementary School. She brings 32 years of experience to her role, including the past two years as a valued member of the Larne team.
Certified in both early childhood and elementary education, Ms. Jenkins is known for her commitment to nurturing the whole child. Her classroom is a welcoming environment where students feel safe, supported and excited to learn.
Ms. Jenkins is deeply passionate about the enduring impact of education. She shared, “Every day we get the chance to make a difference in the lives of our students—that’s powerful!”
Her unwavering dedication, seasoned expertise and student-centered approach embody the very best of Clover School District.

First-year teachers and educators new to the District also met for training and planning sessions for the year. Former School Board member and long-time Clover School District volunteer Sherri Ciurlik was honored this week at the opening of Classroom Central, a resource for district teachers located at the Academies of Clover School District (formerly known as the District Resource Center). Seen here with Jacquelyn George, the center's director, Ciurlik was honored for her selfless work to support education. A former educator in the Detroit, Michigan, school system, Ciurlik has volunteered with PTA, the Stellie Jackson Resource Center, Clover Area Assistance Center, the Lions Club, Battle of the Books, and many other groups and activities that benefit students and teachers. Her strongest advocacy has always been for reading, so the establishment of "Mrs. Ciurlik's Library" is a perfect tribute. Classroom Central offers free educational resources and supplies for all district teachers.

Steven Peeler has been named the Athletic Director for Lake Wylie High School.
Peeler is currently an Assistant Principal at Clover High School and has served as the Blue Eagles’ Varsity Defensive Coordinator since 2015.
Prior to joining the Clover School District, Peeler served as the Varsity Defensive Assistant at Indian Land High School, Varsity Defensive Coordinator for West Lincoln High School, Varsity Assistant for North Gaston High School and an Assistant Coach at Butler High School.
Peeler holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education of History from Appalachian State University and a master’s degree in Education Administration from the University of Phoenix.
Peeler will remain on the sidelines for the Blue Eagles during the upcoming football season before transitioning into his new role as a Charger.
